Historical Memories: Day 4
What it takes to save our country |
The tomb of the unknown soldiers... we can't even comprehend the millions that gave their lives for freedom and liberty. |
Many who took a step out of their comfort zone to make a difference. |
Me and Christinna in Lee's house. |
Tombs went as far as you could see. I was thinking of all the people I know and that doesn't even come close to the numbers of people who died on the battle field. |
The front of the Lincoln Memorial, |
The Abe we all love. |
Cute duckies! :) |
President Roosevelt's cute dog! It looks like Lady! |
Thomas Jefferson Memorial, |
Hey, look, it's me! |
While at the Jefferson Memorial, we saw a helicoptor fly over us that lead to the White House. Maybe the President, eh? |
The Capitol! :) |
A replica of the Capitol in the Capitol building! |
We got to go out on the balcony and straight ahead was the Washington Monument. |
The group with Representative Huizenga. |
We got to ride on an underground train where the real congress rides. (The guy walking is Mr. Ransom) |
Me and Christianna on the train/trolley! :) |

Historical Memories: Day 3
Washington D.C. is ahead of MI's warm weather. The flowers were in bloom. Everyone on the trip was taking pictures like crazy of these! What an amazing design from an amazing Creator!
If you look closely, can you see something??? Through the trees there's a white building... hummm the White House perhaps? ;)
I love this picture with the cherry blossoms in it!
The back of the White House... I think the president's daughter was peaking through the bottom left window... haha!
This is me and my sister by the White House... cute! :)
The three cute girls by the White House. Looks like the flag is pointing out of Christianna's head!
If people could move when I'm taking a picture, man it would be easier! How rude of them!
A horse statue, (I don't remember who) in front of the White House. The Washington Monument in the background!
This is the post/statue for Michigan.
There were thousands of stars symbolizing the people who fought.
Now, my sister Olivia and my friend Christianna would laugh at this. This duck wasn't afraid of anything. He was literally 2 feet away from us. We called him Flappi... Classy eh? That's Flappi with an "I" not a "Y'.

Historical Memories: Day 2
The Star-Spangled Banner... what a banner to be proud of. Freedom is not free.
This is the Washington Monument. If you look closely, there was a time of I believe 50+ years that they had to stop building it. That's why the bricks are differently colored. Inside it, there are bricks dedicated to each state.
This is the Capitol. I zoomed in from the top of the Washington Monument to get this photo. We went for a Capitol tour and photos will be coming for that as well.
The incredible view... 555 feet up overlooking Washington D.C. On 1 side was the capitol, 1 side the Lincoln Memorial, 1 side the White House and I forgot the other one, sorry, Christianna, Olivia do you remember?
Statue of Martin Luther.
The National Cathedral... what a beautiful chapel! The whole building (if seen above) is in a shape of a cross. I thought that was so cool!
A beautiful stain glass window in the cathedral.
One of the chapels in the cathedral had this beautiful background. It almost looked like a fancy organ.
Helen Keller's grave is found in here.
What an amazing building. It took over 80 years to build and the stone walls weigh tons!

Historical Memories: Day 1
Hello! I am back from my historical memories in Gettysburg/Washington D.C.
Boy, have I learned a lot! Before I get ahead of myself, I will start from the very beginning.
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is a very historic destination. Many things have been mantained and kept from the actual civil war fought in Gettysburg. My favorite part of this day was the tour we had on the battle field.
This monument is a soldier who actually was from Michigan. The tour guide knew we were from there and gave us fascinating facts about what part they had in it.Thankfully, me and my friend Christianna are still alive from this canon... :)
The view of the battle field. Pictures doesn't due it justice, this was remarkable. Earlier that day, we were at the Gettysburg museum and we looked at a painting (called the circlorama, it was a painting in a room with everything on every side) and you could picture it.
Me looking over the battle field... now may I say, I hadn't slept for hours and was in a bus for over 12 hours! So I have an excuse for looking exhausted.
Me again! The pink by my face, is my sister's beautiful arm... thanks sissy for making this picture complete. ;)
Now, this is how random I am. I live in MI and I took a picture of a tulip... Yes, I did... My Dad thought I was nuts. This was the first time in my life that I saw guys taking picture of flowers. :D haha it was funny!
